Yahoo Mail comes with 1TB of free storage space and revamped UI [Video]

Yahoo has updated its mail service with a completely new user interface and has also increased the storage space to a massive 1TB. The new redesigned interface of the service makes it more interactive and intuitive, like its competitor Google’s Gmail service. The new Yahoo Mail is available across platforms including Windows 8, iOS, and Android.

Taking up the memory space first, Yahoo Mail now comes with 1TB of storage space for mails and attachments and other content. Yahoo had earlier announced 1TB of free storage for Flickr.

In terms of the redesigned UI, Yahoo Mail has been made better with easy to access features and new theme based interface. So now, when you hover on top of a mail in the inbox, you will see three options including search for more mails from the sender, deleting the conversation and starring the mail. These one tap options work similar to what you get in Gmail.

Also, you can now choose to collapse the left-hand toolbar to give more room to the inbox. Apart from this, features like disposable email addresses, enhanced filters and automatic message forwarding that were previously reserved for premium Mail Plus customers are now available for everyone for free.

Besides this, you can add new themes including photos from Flickr account which will be synced across platforms including a web browser on a PC or Mac as well as smartphones and tablets running on Android or iOS. Yahoo will then automatically change the color of the text as per the background theme. Yahoo has also tweaked the mail interface and added conversations-based threaded view for emails, which is now a regular feature for most mail services.

Yahoo has also mentioned that the new Windows 8 experience is available only in English in India and other countries like the US, Canada, UK, Philippines, Malaysia, Ireland, New Zealand and South Africa. However, Yahoo also promises to soon add more countries and languages.
