MapmyIndia launches Explore app for Windows Phone 8

Navigation and location-based service provider MapmyIndia has launched its new app named as the Explore app for Windows Phone 8 platform. The app is free to download and as per the company’s claim, features up to five million point of interests including ATMs, hospitals and other places. The company will also launch ‘Explore’ for Android users soon.

The application will integrate with a user’s Facebook account and allow activities like pinning favorite hangouts, rate and review popular places around their location. To understand it better, this Explore app will somewhat work like Foursquare and let a user log into Explore with their Facebook account. One can also pin places, add photos, write reviews, follow other users and check their activity feed on Explore, and subscribe to places. One can also post these activities on their Facebook account. Besides this, the application can be used for maps and navigation directions, search for places and favorites, explore new places and more.

Before this, MapmyIndia had partnered with Microsoft to launch the Locate app and Real-time traffic update on MapmyIndia maps for Windows 8 platform.
