Google is reportedly said to announce ‘Gem’ smartwatch on October 31

Google, we know, has been working on a smartwatch, though the search giant has done remarkably well in keeping things tightly under wraps. Besides murmurs here and there, there’s hardly any substantial information leaked about the device. Now though we might have some new piece of information. Artem Russakovskii of AndroidPolice posted on Google+ that the company’s Nexus smartwatch (codenamed Gem), could be launched alongside Android 4.4 KitKat on October 31.

Not surprisingly, there’s no new information on the smartphone except the alleged launch date. But he warns that this news is about a month old, so there could be a change of date at the last moment. The dicey nature of the date aside, it is really interesting to hear about Google’s smartwatch and how far ahead in development it has supposedly reached. With Samsung’s recently launched Galaxy Gear smartwatch termed as a disappointment by many, all eyes are now on Google to unveil something revolutionary.
