Earlier this year at the Mobile Asia Expo, Sony unveiled the Xperia C which was targeted at the Chinese market. This mid-range Android device now seems to be heading to our shores. The device is available on some Indian e-commerce sites available for pre-orders for Rs 20,490.
The mid-range device sports a 5-inch qHD (960×540 pixels) display and is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, making it the first Sony smartphone to be powered by a MediaTek SoC.
Other features included are 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera, front camera, 4GB of internal storage that can be expanded using a microSD card and a battery that Sony claims can survive through 14 hours of talk time and 588 hours on standby mode.
On the connectivity front, the device features dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and on the software front, the device runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Sony will be offering the device in black, white and purple color variants and according to the listings on the online retail stores, the device will be shipped next week.
