Facebook is finally allowing users to edit their posts after they are published. The feature was added in the latest update to its Android app and is also available on the web interface. This was first spotted by TechCrunch. Earlier Facebook allowed users to edit their comments but in case the original post needed to be edited, users had to delete the post and make a new one, losing all likes and comments made on the first post.
To use the feature, one can simply click on the downward arrow key given on the side of a post and can choose to edit or revise the content. The edited post has a notification under it that informs others the post has been edited and they can see the editing history. This is to safeguard against situation where users might post something and later edit it to completely change the context.
The feature is currently not available on iOS though Facebook indicated it would be added soon.
Android users can download or update to the latest version of the Facebook app from here.
