Nokia Treasure Tag NFC accessory leaked, likely to be announced on October 22

Nokia could launch an NFC accessory called Treasure Tag at its Nokia World event in Abu Dhabi on October 22. Prolific leaker @evleaks has leaked the official press photo of the accessory. However, this is not the first time we are hearing about this unique accessory. Earlier in July, we had reported how it would work.

The Treasure Tag is essentially an NFC tag that works with a proximity sensor using Bluetooth 4.0. The idea is to pair the tag with a Lumia smartphone and then attach the lanyard to any object like a bag or keychain. Nokia will release an app along with the Treasure Tag so users can get an alert on their phone whenever they are in close proximity of the tag or when they go farther than a preset distance. We can already think of attaching it to our checked in bags and getting an alert when it comes on the carousel.

Nokia is expected to launch six devices at its Abu Dhabi event including two Lumia devices and at least one Asha phone.
